Deb Knuth
"I love to paint! Since I've been a small child, I've been drawing portraits of people and animals and started with oils when I was nine years old. I studied art at the University of North Dakota, but also have taken numerous art classes. My artist heroes include John Singer Sargent, Bruce Graham, and Martin Grelle."
Deb's inspirations include her western way of life, the beautiful North Dakota Badlands and Missouri Breaks. The painting on the left was made into the 2008 Mandan Rodeo Days poster. Check out the Mandan Rodeo Days website at www.mandanrodeo.com.
When you look at the 2008 Mandan Rodeo Days poster, you know it's the Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night. The bareback broncs are loaded, the cowboys are waiting for their event. The crowd is standing and all hats are off as here comes America's Rodeo Queen carrying Old Glory while the National Anthem plays.
Deb is proud to announce that the painting, "North Dakota's Pride, America's Queen", was accepted by Phil Baird, president of the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame, during a presentation at the Mandan Rodeo on July 2, 2008. The painting is displayed in Medora at the ND Cowboy Hall of Fame.
The Mandan Rodeo Days poster for 2009 can be seen on gallery 4. The artwork was used for promoting the rodeo in both newsprint, posters and billboards. Thanks Mandan Rodeo Committee for your support!
The annual chuck wagon race is always a crowd pleasing event and "Racing in Wagons" depicts the power of the race.
